Count coughs while your phone is nearby
Keep this page open with the screen on, for example on a nightstand while charging. Breathwell counts short, loud sounds and keeps a record you can share with your clinician.
Not listening.
Last 24 hours
Green ticks mean the phone listened for most of that hour and heard nothing. Gray ticks and faded bars mean it listened for under 45 minutes, so a low count may only mean it was not listening.

Tap "Not a cough" for a false alarm. It stops counting and is saved in your data with that label.

What this is and is not
Breathwell Listener counts short, loud sounds, which is how most coughs sound. It cannot tell asthma from other causes of cough and it does not diagnose anything. Talking, laughing, a TV, someone else's cough, or a door closing can be counted by mistake, and quiet coughs far from the phone can be missed. Phones sometimes adjust the microphone on their own, which can change results. A low count does not mean you are fine.
It listens only while this page is open and the screen is on. Browsers stop the microphone when the screen locks or you switch apps, so for the night use Overnight mode with the phone charging nearby. Listening with the screen off needs a phone app.
If you cannot speak in full sentences, your lips look blue, or your rescue inhaler is not helping, call your local emergency number now. That is 911 in the US, 112 in the EU, and 999 in the UK.
